Our history:

The Dreamcatcher Society began in 2005, when 30 founding families stepped forward with a shared vision: to help build Levine Children’s Hospital and ensure it would be a place where children could truly be children. Led by Sherrard and Johnny Georgius and Mandy and Todd Houser, these early supporters pledged to fund distinctive, child-focused projects at the future hospital—pairing world-class medicine with imagination, comfort, and joy.

From the outset, the Society played a pivotal role in the Dare to Dream Campaign, helping generate the momentum and philanthropic support necessary to bring Levine Children’s Hospital to life. Early investments reflected a deep understanding of the patient experience, funding projects such as ride-on race cars that allow children to travel to treatment while receiving IV therapy, and a whimsical robotic medication dispenser modeled after a train car. These innovations transformed routine care into playful moments for patients.

Over the years, critical support from the Dreamcatcher Society continued to help set Levine Children’s Hospital apart. They joined the Partnership for Pediatric Hearts to help advance world-class pediatric cardiac care and funded the Child Life program, now one of the largest of its kind in the United States. By 2017, the Dreamcatcher Society consisted of hundreds of members, collectively establishing a legacy of philanthropic excellence, member engagement, and innovation at Levine Children’s. Their generosity has been instrumental in propelling Atrium Health forward.

Today, the Dreamcatcher Society honors its founders and their pivotal role in building the hospital as it celebrates the thousands who carry their legacy forward.
