Introducing the Keep Pounding Fund

Philanthropy has played a vital role in Atrium Health’s growth since its founding in 1940. Generous donors have helped advance medical programs, clinical services and research across the health system

Gifts to the Keep Pounding Fund support wellness outreach, clinical research, advanced equipment, new technologies and innovative treatments. This support enables Atrium Health Levine Cancer Institute and Atrium Health Levine Children’s to offer Phase I and Phase II clinical trials, giving families access to leading-edge cancer care close to home.

Each year, the Keep Pounding 5K brings together runners, Carolina Panthers fans, cancer survivors and supporters of Levine Children’s and Levine Cancer Institute for a charitable run through Bank of America Stadium. Proceeds help fund patient navigators, wellness outreach, clinical research, advanced technologies, equipment and treatment options for patients with cancer.

Keep Pounding Hits the Road

Since they were first unveiled, a series of custom-made Keep Pounding license plates has generated support for the Keep Pounding Fund, a key cancer fundraising initiative advancing cancer research at both Atrium Health Levine Cancer Institute and Atrium Health Levine Children’s. Representing the long-standing commitment of the Carolina Panthers to the local fight against cancer, the specialty license plates commemorate the late Panthers linebacker and coach Sam Mills’ battle with cancer. A portion of each $30 plate fee is earmarked for the Keep Pounding Fund, amounting to more than $500,000 to date. Purchase your Keep Pounding license plate through the North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles, here.
