Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center Bed Tower
In July 2023, Atrium Health broke ground on a 12-story, state-of-the-art advanced care facility on the campus of Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center. Located just minutes from uptown Charlotte, the 1.1 million-square-foot tower is scheduled to open in 2027 and serves as the marquee project in a broader transformation of the medical campus.
Designed to enhance both capacity and innovation, the new facility will seamlessly connect to the Dickson Tower and the David L. Conlan Center at Atrium Health Carolinas Rehabilitation, which opened in January 2023. Together, these investments represent a bold reimagining of how care is delivered in our region.

Atrium Health Lake Norman
Atrium Health Lake Norman welcomed its first patients in July 2025, marking the opening of Atrium Health’s newest hospital, Atrium Health Lake Norman. The nearly 200,000-square-foot facility in Cornelius, N.C., delivers world-class care close to home for residents and visitors in northern Mecklenburg County and surrounding communities. Designed to meet a wide range of patient needs, Atrium Health Lake Norman features a 24/7 emergency department, a state-of-the-art labor and delivery unit, modern operating and procedure rooms, advanced laboratory services, and an on-site pharmacy. Philanthropic opportunities to support this innovative facility can help expand programs, advance technology, and elevate the patient and family experience.
Atrium Health Levine Children's Medical Plaza
Atrium Health has a vision to build a brighter future for health and is leading the way, investing in the care that you, your family, your friends, and neighbors – all of us – hope is there when we need it. The main campus in Charlotte is already undergoing significant transformation to ensure that our patients have access to world-class facilities, close to home.
One of the newest bright spots for our children and their families will be our Levine Children’s Medical Plaza, where young patients can continue to receive coordinated, seamless specialty care – outside the hospital. This facility will feel like a home away from home – a warm embrace. There's a space for every treatment – kidney, heart, cancer, and over 30 more specialties – all in one place.
Through support from our community, we are taking children’s healthcare to a whole new level. Part of what makes our children's outpatient center so special is our coordinated approach to care, ensuring all patients and their family members have access to a wide array of services, under one roof. As a result, children spend less time in appointments and more time enjoying their childhood.
