For the past 10 years, the Carolina Panthers and Atrium Health Foundation have hosted the Keep Pounding 5K to support cancer research and patient care programs at Levine Children’s Hospital and Levine Cancer Institute. Traditionally, runners have made their way through the Dilworth neighborhood and crossed the finish line inside Bank of America Stadium. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the 10th annual event was celebrated virtually this year. Thanks to our Presenting Sponsors JELD-WEN and Rodgers Builders, the Keep Pounding 5K became a week-long celebration and took place May 23 – 30. Nearly 1,000 patients, survivors, cancer advocates, and community members registered and completed the 5K during the race-week. Stories of hope were shared online and through WSOC-TV to spread awareness and show why it is so important to raise money for the Keep Pounding Fund. The community came together to raise over $75,000 and immeasurable hope for families and patients. The race may have looked different this year, but Charlotte will always Keep Pounding in the fight against cancer.
We would like to share our gratitude to our amazing Presenting Sponsors, JELD-WEN and Rodgers Builders, as well as the Carolina Panthers and WSOC-TV for making this year’s virtual event possible. We look forward to reuniting inside Bank of America Stadium in 2021!
