About the Professional Advisory Council
The Professional Advisory Council (PAC) was established in 2019 to support Atrium Health Foundation’s planned giving program. The Council, which is currently made up of 17 distinguished professionals, offers financial and estate planning expertise to individuals who are interested in making a legacy gift to one of the nearly 300 charitable funds established at the Foundation. Each Council member serves a three-year term and acts as an important advocate for Atrium Health throughout our communities.
Introducing PAC Member Eric Ridenour
As the managing director of Colony Family Offices, Eric Ridenour, CPA, PFS, CFP, is responsible for overseeing the company’s client experience, service offerings, and strategic direction. A trusted wealth advisor, Eric serves his clients throughout the Southeast with a specific focus on the unique needs and wealth planning objectives of each family. Eric’s career in tax, estate, and wealth planning spans over 25 years. Prior to his current role, Eric offered his leadership at GenSpring Family Offices, LLC for over a decade as the president for the Carolinas and Tennessee region, which required his expertise in tax, estate, investment, charitable, and business succession planning needs.
When asked how he learned about, and ultimately joined, the PAC at the Atrium Health Foundation, Eric shared, “I was first introduced to the Atrium Health Foundation through my relationship with a client family with an interest in supporting various Atrium Health programs through planned giving.” Being able to share his perspective and experiences with the PAC has enriched the Foundation, while also deepening the meaning of Eric’s own work. He reflected, “Working with clients to execute transformational giving has been a highlight of my career, and it is an honor to serve on the Council in this capacity.”
In addition to serving on the Professional Advisory Council, Eric is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Charlotte Estate Planning Council, and continues to expand his knowledge and understanding of how best to serve Charlotte locals as they plan their legacies.
