About the Professional Advisory Council
The Professional Advisory Council (PAC) was established in 2019 to support Atrium Health Foundation’s planned giving program. The Council, which is currently made up of 17 distinguished professionals, offers financial and estate planning expertise to individuals who are interested in making a legacy gift to one of the nearly 300 charitable funds established at the Foundation. Each Council member serves a three-year term and acts as an important advocate for Atrium Health throughout our communities.
Introducing PAC Member Nick Foy, CFP®
Nick Foy, CFP® is the founder of Greenway Wealth Advisors, an independent financial planning and investment management firm based in the South End neighborhood of Charlotte. Nick founded Greenway Wealth Advisors in 2018 to better serve the needs of Generation X & Y clients, who tend to have differing views on money, finances, and retirement than prior generations. Nick’s passions lie in “helping people use money as a tool to maximize their impact on their family, their community, and the world.”
When he’s not serving his clients, Nick spends much of his free time supporting Atrium Health, as it’s the health system that has provided exceptional care for his family. “My family became forever linked to Atrium Health when my son was born with chronic kidney disease,” shared Nick. “He spent his first three months in the NICU at Levine Children’s Hospital and came home on dialysis. He received a life-saving kidney transplant at 18 months and is now a vibrant, crazy nine-year-old. Our family is grateful for physicians who are full of both wisdom and humility, and nurses and staff who have cared deeply for our son and our family.”
In addition to serving on the Professional Advisory Council, Nick is a member of the Levine Children’s Hospital Dreamcatcher Society and has previously served on the Levine Children’s Hospital Family Advisory Council. When asked what prompted him to join the Professional Advisory Council, Nick shared, “I wanted to be a part of the Professional Advisory Council so I can be an advocate for Atrium Health, and better understand the health system’s future plans to become an even better system for our region.”
Outside of his work and volunteerism for Atrium Health, Nick is a husband and father to two children. He also serves as a trustee at Mosaic Church in Charlotte, volunteers as a lunch buddy at Brookstone School, and has been known to spend his mornings working out with the men of F3 Nation or playing water polo.
