This week marks the grand opening of the 236,000-square-foot Palmetto Bed Tower, the newest addition to Atrium Health Pineville. Since first opening as an urgent care facility in 1987, Atrium Health Pineville has remained steadfast in its commitment to meeting the needs of the South Charlotte region – providing care to residents from Ballantyne, Rock Hill, Fort Mill, and beyond. With numerous rankings and awards, Atrium Health Pineville is recognized as one of the top hospitals in the region.
“We are fortunate to have some of the best and brightest medical minds in the world working with us all throughout our 1,400+ care locations,” shared Ken Haynes, MSHA, MBA, FACHE, enterprise executive vice president and president of the Greater Charlotte Region for Atrium Health, during the grand opening celebration on Tuesday, December 7. “Nothing illustrates that better than some of the most recent recognition that Atrium Health Pineville has received. It has been honored by U.S. News & World Report as high-performing in the treatment of heart attack, heart failure, diabetes, endocrinology, nephrology, knee replacement, and COPD. And for the fourth consecutive year, it has been named to the Fortune/IBM Watson Health Top 50 Cardiovascular Hospitals list.”
Philanthropy has played an integral part in Atrium Health Pineville’s growth and recognition as a top hospital. For over 10 years, the Pineville team has hosted the Atrium Health Pineville Golf Invitational to raise funds for the areas of greatest needs within the hospital. Since its inception, the golf invitational has raised over $850,000, funding education, new equipment, nurse navigator positions, and more.
While the tournament could not take place in 2020 or 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic, many community partners have graciously upheld their commitment to the hospital, donating their sponsorships in lieu of the event. Atrium Health Foundation would like to recognize this year’s generous partners for their continued support, including: Rodgers Builders, ABEO Management, Bradley, Charlotte Radiology, Garfinkel Law, Robinson Bradshaw, Stantec, SteelFab, Inc., USACS, Walter P Moore, Alfred Williams Construction, and WSP USA, Inc.
As we celebrate the growth of Atrium Health Pineville, including the recent naming of the Palmetto bed tower, Atrium Health Foundation is thrilled to introduce a new philanthropic initiative. Now patients, teammates, and community members are invited to express their gratitude for the Pineville team by being one of the first to purchase a brick for the new Pineville Healing Garden. This garden, located outside of the new bed tower, will serve as a place for those who need a chance to take a breath, relax a little, and begin to heal. Click here to learn more.
