Carolina Panther All-Pro tight end Greg Olsen continues to create awareness and drive support for the HEARTest Yard fund, which he established with Carolinas HealthCare Foundation after his own son was born with a life-threatening heart defect. The fund, which serves families with hypoplastic left heart syndrome who are treated at Levine, has raised more than $700,000. From hosting golf tournaments and 5Ks to selling Superbowl shirts and serving on the Levine Children’s Gala committee, Greg and his wife Kara continue to demonstrate what is closest to their hearts.
Early in 2016, the Olsen family and their foundation made substantial contributions totaling $300,000 to benefit patients at Carolinas HealthCare System. $275,000 of this will directly support the HEARTest Yard Fund. The remaining contribution will benefit Levine Cancer Institute breast cancer programs.
