Earlier this year, Levine Children’s Hospital was honored to be visited by Spirit Halloween store managers and associates who have locally partnered with Carolinas HealthCare Foundation in recent years to raise funds—and brighten patients’ spirits—through their “Spirit of Children” program. Since 2008, the program has donated over $200,000 to support the Child Life program at Levine Children’s Hospital.
Visits from friends like Spirit Halloween brighten the day for children—like Bryson (pictured) who has spent many months in the hospital awaiting a new heart.
The Spirit of Children program aims to make hospitals across the nation, including LCH, feel less scary for young patients and their families by providing fun during Halloween and funding year-round to hospitals’ Child Life programs. Spirit of Children chose to partner with and support Child Life because of their role in providing developmental, educational, and therapeutic support for children undergoing medical treatment. We’re grateful to Spirit Halloween and the Spirit of Children Program for providing vital funding to Levine Children’s Hospital’s Child Life program.
