Drive-in benefit concert for Levine Children’s Hospital held at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
On Saturday, April 10, Atrium Health Foundation hosted “A Night at the Drive-In” – the first fundraising event of its kind to benefit Atrium Health Levine Children’s Hospital. The unique event has raised over $408,000 and counting to benefit the Levine Children’s outpatient specialty center, receiving considerable support from Presenting Sponsor PNC.
Hundreds of corporate and community supporters, patient families, and teammates of Levine Children’s Hospital were in attendance, including Atrium Health frontline caregivers who were invited as honored guests. To ensure everyone could remain safely in their vehicles and enjoy a front-row seat, the program was broadcast through an FM radio station and on Charlotte Motor Speedway’s mega-screen.

Atrium Health president and CEO Eugene A. Woods began the evening with a musical performance from the Gene Woods Soul Alliance. Several corporate sponsors made remarks throughout the evening, including PNC regional president Weston Andress, and underscored the importance of the Levine Children’s outpatient specialty center to patients like Palmer, who is treated for a chronic medical condition; and Kahlil, who was cured of sickle cell disease last year.
“Some of our community’s most vulnerable patients and families continue to need support as they battle serious injuries and illnesses,” shared Mr. Andress. “Many of these children require ongoing care at Levine Children’s outpatient center. Tonight’s event is all about helping to take that center to the next level, and we’re excited to be a part of this important effort… Let’s keep children close to our hearts tonight and celebrate the bright spot we have at Levine Children’s.”
The program was followed by a memorable live-performance from Blues Traveler, which featured the beloved classic “Run-Around,” among other fan favorites. The rain couldn’t keep guests of the Levine Children’s Drive-In down as they celebrated Atrium Health’s pediatric patient families.
