As the country’s largest seasonal Halloween retailer, Spirit Halloween knows all about the power of Halloween: the excitement, the imagination, the fantasy, thrills, and chills. Since 2008, through its Spirit of Children Program, Spirit Halloween has brought that magic to patients at Levine Children’s Hospital. This week, Spirit Halloween (Spencer Spirit Holdings, Inc.) executives Mike Costello and Kimberly Bell presented a check for more than $50,000 to Levine Children’s, representing the organization’s year-round fundraising and Spirit Halloween pop-up shop proceeds from 2018, all of which benefit Levine Children’s Hospital’s Child Life Program.
Levine Children’s Child Life program provides an essential psychosocial and emotional support system that helps patients and their families cope with a child’s illness or treatment during a hospital stay. Certified Child Life Specialists use medical play, video, and other recreational and educational tools to help restore a sense of control and normalcy in patients’ lives during their hospitalization. Our heartfelt thanks go to Spirit Halloween President and CEO Steven Silverstein and to Spirit Halloween store associates and customers for supporting this vital patient program at Levine Children’s.
Levine Children’s is honored to be among the 140 partner hospitals benefiting from Spirit Halloween’s annual fundraising. Since first partnering with Spirit Halloween in 2008, Levine Children’s Child Life has been the beneficiary of more than $200,000 raised by the Spirit of Children Program. Learn more here.
