Charlotteans 4 Cancer Cure (C4CC) held its annual golf tournament on October 1 at Carmel Country Club, raising nearly $35,000 to benefit Carolinas HealthCare Foundation’s Cancer Research Innovations Fund. The fund supports clinical trials and related research conducted at Levine Cancer Institute. C4CC was established in 2012 by a group of women in the 18-Hole Ladies Golf Association at Carmel Country Club. Many of these women and their families have been touched by cancer, and their combined efforts have now raised nearly $100,000 to help bring cutting-edge cancer treatment to Charlotte. Last year, Charlotteans 4 Cancer Cure was recognized with a special plaque in the hospital’s Phase 1 Clinical Trials Family Waiting Room, honoring their advocacy and partnership with Levine Cancer Institute.
