The Bosom Buddies Benefit Clinic is truly unique. Bosom Buddies, a fundraising event started in 2005 by Donna Branham and a group of tennis enthusiasts at the Weddington Swim & Racquet Club, has made great strides in expanding its reach. The program, which hosts clinics at various Charlotte-area tennis clubs, has already generated over $360,000 for breast cancer awareness programs in Charlotte.
Hundreds of participants and tennis professionals gather each year for breast cancer awareness and fundraising. In 2012 Bosom Buddies pledged $250,000 in support of breast cancer programs at Levine Cancer Institute, including the Image Boutique. This meaningful gift helps to ensure that all women, regardless of income, will be able to utilize the critical resources made available in the new boutique. As a group, it has always been important for the Bosom Buddies that their contributions stay in Charlotte to help women in the Carolinas. Carolinas HealthCare Foundation will proudly ensure that 100% of their donations continue to stay local, impacting services and research at Levine Cancer Institute.
