The Martin Truex Jr. Foundation is a loyal and longtime friend of Levine Children’s Hospital. Their generosity has helped make the Ryan Seacrest Studios at Levine Children’s Hospital a reality, as well as the establishment of The Martin Truex Jr. Pediatric Special Needs Fund at the hospital. This fund, made possible in part by the Foundation’s annual charity event, Catwalk for a Cause, provides financial assistance to hospitalized families in need. In addition, the Martin Truex Jr. Foundation recently committed $300,000 to help hire a new nurse practitioner at Levine Children’s Hospital’s Torrence E. Hemby Jr. Pediatric Hematology and Oncology Center.
While he’s not walking the “Catwalk for a Cause” with NASCAR friends Dale Earnhardt Jr., Danica Patrick, and Kasey Kahne, Martin extends his support beyond the walls of Levine Children’s Hospital to impact the lives of patients at Levine Cancer Institute as well. Ovarian cancer awareness is a cause that hits close to home for Martin and his long-time partner, Sherry Pollex, who was diagnosed with the disease last year. This September, the Foundation sponsored the annual Stiletto Sprint, which benefits ovarian cancer research, patients programs, education, and awareness at Levine Cancer Institute. We are grateful to Martin, Sherry, and everyone at the Martin Truex Jr. Foundation for their enduring commitment to cancer care at Carolinas HealthCare System.
